is the fundament to achieve organizational concinnity, the harmonious arrangement and fitting of all the components of an enterprise in order to maximize its effectiveness and efficiency
Business IT Aligment
Business IT Alignment concerns the correct definition of the information requirements of the enterprise and as such the basis for the design, development and implementation of enterprise information systems
Quantitative Process Optimization for cost minimization
aims to quantify and minimize the economic and financial cost of business operations
Ecological Impact Minimization
Quantitative Process Optimization for the minimization of ecological impact
focuses not only on the quantification of the ecological impact of business operations but also on the minimization of their ecological impact
Turning problems into profit
Greengineering helps to solve organizational problems in an effective and efficient way, enabling to decrease costs as well as to increase profit and to optimize agility.
BLUE NUMBERS - GREEN RESULTS
"Creating a strong business and building a better world are not conflicting goals, they are both essential ingredients for long-term success."
(William Clay Ford Jr. Executive Chairman, Ford Motor Company)
Greengineering helps companies to improve operational excellence in order to increase profit. As companies are complex and need to operate in a fast-evolving and highly-competitive environment which becomes more and more global, it not only is essential to have a good and clear strategy but also the capabilities to implement this strategy. In the context of the current competitive markets and evolving technology, companies also need to be able to change their strategy according to the changing markets. This requires companies to be agile.
Greengineering offers solutions to companies to achieve such agility by providing dedicated consulting services in the domains of Enterprise Architecture, Business IT-Alignment, IT Service Management, Quantitative Optimization and Life Cycle Assessment.
Being an engineering company, Greengineering uses state-of-the-art know-how built on a combination of relevant science (such as the domains of Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering and Life Cycle Assessment or LCA), tested industrial methods, methodologies and best practices (such as Lean, Six Sigma and ITIL) and years of experience built in the operational environments of multinational companies. Since know-how is constantly evolving, we are also committed to and actively involved in research and development of new methods to extend our capabilities to help companies to increase their operational excellence and reduce their costs. For this purpose, we actively cooperate with academic as well as industry researchers.
Greengineering has created a number of complementary optimization programmes, each focusing on a specific part of operational excellence. Our strategy track focuses on the essential construction and functioning of a company, which is modeled and optimized using Enterprise Architecture. Our informational track concerns the aspect of getting the right and correct information at the right place at the right time and optimize the alignment between business and IT. Additionally, our IT service management track is dedicated to keeping your ICT-processes in optimal shape in order to assist business in the best possible way. Our process optimization track is focused on the more traditional elements of operational excellence and aims at reducing the costs of business processes, in order to maximize profit. This is where methods such as Lean, Six Sigma and Operations Research can show their full potential. But our offering does not stop here. We help you to quantify the ecological footprint of your company. For this purpose, Greengineering has developed a specific approach based on a combination of enterprise architecture and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
DRIVEN BY SCIENCE
HYBRID ENTERPRISE ENGINEERING
"We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them"
The important problems which today’s companies and organizations face usually arise spontaneously because of growth and/or because of changes in the economic environment. Especially a company’s problems due to growth come easily, but they will not disappear spontaneously. On the contrary, if such problems are not solved, they will grow in numbers as well as in size. And what is more, such problems will decrease the performance of an organisation.
Although an extensive set of methodologies, methods and tools (Operations Research, Lean, Six Sigma, … ) has been developed in the past to address such problems, new fundamental knowledge to manage and solve the problems of companies and organizations is still being developed. In this context, the concepts of Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Ontology are important. Numerous Enterprise Architecture frameworks exist for quite some years, e.g. the Zachman framework as first published in 1987 by IBM. Building on this body of knowledge, the discipline of Enterprise Engineering has evolved into a true scientific discipline resulting in specific scientific methodologies with both a prescriptive and descriptive character, enabling the creation of a comprehensive and cohesive specification of an enterprise, company or organization in all its aspects.
Greengineering has adopted this approach and uses state-of-the-art quantitative methods for modeling an enterprise, which enables the use of quantitative optimization methods such as Six Sigma to improve the performance of your company.
When talking about quantitative optimization, Greengineering has also added the aspect of the ecological impact of the products, services and activities of your company to the equation.
This is accomplished by the use of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which is the most widely used methodology for the analysis of the environmental burden of products at all stages in their life cycle.
Next to using state-of-the-art methodologies, methods and tools to address and solve complex problems related to organisational performance optimization, Greengineering is also doing research in a number of relevant domains, such as investigating how the current body of knowledge can be extended or optimally used in practice to obtain concrete results for companies.
In this sense, Greengineering is truly offering you hybrid business engineering: we not only put existing engineering knowledge into practice but we also develop new know-how, and additionally, we focus not only on financial performance but also on the ecological performance of a company or organisation.
